A GoHighLevel snapshot is a reusable template of a sub-account’s setup. It copies things like funnels, workflows, pipelines, calendars, forms, custom fields and tags into another account, so you don’t rebuild them by hand. It does not copy contacts, conversations, appointments or connected integrations. Agencies use snapshots to launch new client accounts in minutes.
If you have spent days building a good follow-up system in GoHighLevel, the last thing you want is to build it again for the next client or the next location. Snapshots solve that. Here is what they are, what they carry across, and how to use them without wrecking an account that already has data in it.
What a snapshot copies
According to HighLevel’s help centre, a snapshot can include:
- Funnels and websites, forms and surveys
- Workflows (automations) and triggers
- Pipelines and their stages
- Calendars
- Custom fields, custom values and custom objects
- Tags, trigger links, smart lists and dashboards
- AI settings such as Conversation AI and Voice AI agents
What a snapshot does not copy
- Contacts, appointments and opportunities
- Conversations and message history
- Reputation data such as reviews
- Integrations and connections such as Stripe or third-party accounts, which need reconnecting
- Phone numbers assigned to Voice AI agents
So a snapshot moves the system, not the data. After loading one, you still connect the new account’s phone number, payment and calendar integrations, and update any business details stored in custom values.
How snapshots are used
- Build it once. Set up a sub-account the way you want every client or location to work.
- Create the snapshot from that sub-account at agency level.
- Load it into a new sub-account, or share it with another agency using a share link.
- Customise the custom values (business name, phone, address, booking links) so every page and message updates at once.
- Connect the integrations and phone number, then test the whole flow with a real form fill.

I build GoHighLevel systems that are clean enough to reuse: pipelines, automations and follow-up that book calls. Free 30-minute call.
Book a free callLoading into an account that already has data
Loading a snapshot adds its assets to the account. If something in the snapshot has the same name as something already there, you choose whether to override it or skip it. HighLevel notes that existing data is only affected when you choose to override. Even so, check the conflicts carefully before you load, especially workflows that are already running.
Should you buy a ready-made snapshot?
Pre-built snapshots for trades, dentists, gyms and other niches are widely sold. They can save time, but treat them as a starting point, not a finished system:
- Check the messages. Generic, salesy texts hurt replies. Rewrite them in your own voice.
- Check the workflows. Make sure nothing sends at odd hours or double-texts a lead.
- Remove what you don’t need. A snapshot with 40 workflows you never use is harder to manage than one with 6 that work.
- Test end to end with your own phone before any real lead touches it.
The follow-up logic matters far more than the template. If you are new to GoHighLevel, start with what GoHighLevel is, the honest review and the pricing breakdown.
Frequently asked questions
What is a GoHighLevel snapshot?
A reusable template of a sub-account’s setup, such as funnels, workflows, pipelines, calendars, forms and custom fields, that can be loaded into other accounts so you don’t rebuild them.
Do GoHighLevel snapshots include contacts?
No. Snapshots copy the setup, not the data. Contacts, conversations, appointments and reputation data are not transferred.
Will loading a snapshot overwrite my account?
Only if you choose to. When an asset conflicts with one already in the account, you decide whether to override or skip it. Review conflicts before loading.
Are paid GoHighLevel snapshots worth it?
They can save setup time, but treat them as a starting point. Rewrite the messages, trim unused workflows and test everything before real leads go through it.
